本期小的首饰展主题为：时刻样本Samples of Time——青年首饰人李怡个人作品展。关于艺术家，首先要提到她主理的自媒体公众号“关于首饰的一切”，相信很多首饰业内的朋友都在关注。在工作之余所创建，李怡通过这个首饰专业综合平台发现和推广与当代首饰有关的信息和事件，以这样的方式为她所热爱的专业尽自己所能。
The coming event of The Small Jewelry Exhibition is honored to bring you:Samples of Time---the solo exhibition of young jewelry artist Li Yi.With regard to the artist,first of all,we must mention about a We-Media Public Account“All About Jewelry”that she manages.I believe many friends in the jewelry circle are following this account.Established during her spare time,Li Yi aims to discover and promote information and events related to contemporary jewelry art through this comprehensive platform.In this way,she is dedicating her best effort for the profession she loves.
虽然“自媒体”像是一个与时代紧密相关的词，但她说自己其实是个“落伍”的人，就像她始终喜欢“停留”在手工劳作中寻找乐趣一样。
Although“We-Media”sounds like a word closely related to the times,she said that she was actually an“outdated”person,as she always“stayed”in manual labor to seek for fun.
李怡即将展出的新系列作品以“手工雕刻”为原始动力，从单纯的劳作过程中提取想法，逐渐进阶繁衍出整个系列。作品以时间为轴，在两个方向上进行延展，最终展开成两个部分同时呈现。
Li Yi’s new series of works adopt“hand-engraving”as the original motivation.She gained ideas from the pure labor process,and gradually advanced them into an entire series.Her works expanded in two directions by taking time as the axis,and were then simultaneously presented as two independent parts.
时间的消减
Attenuation of Time
李怡选择用牛角、羊角及木料进行创作，这些天然材料都是经由岁月累积而生长成型的，在她眼中，它们仿佛是凝固了的时间本身。同时，雕刻是以“时间”为工具的工作方式，作品从更大体量的原材料中被“开采”，再经历她的双手不断地劳作最终在破损与完整间定格，创作的过程仿佛是“用时间在重塑时间”。
Li Yi chose to use ox horns,sheep horns and wood for her creations.These natural materials,which are formed through accumulation of time,seem to be the frozen time itself in her eyes.At the same time,engraving is a working mode taking“time”as a tool.Her works were“mined”from a massive volume of raw materials,and were eventually frozen between damage and integrity throughout constant effort of her hands.The creation process therefore becomes a process of“using time to reshape time”.

“手工”这个词在当下的时代语境里似乎是有点奢侈的，它并不是主流的生产方式，意味着时间和精力的双重消耗，既不迅速便捷，成果往往也很难做到尽善尽美，在商业价值上它的性价比不够高。手工这一行为方式似乎始终无法与时代赛跑，或急或缓只能固执地依照自己的步调，对它来说，“时间”也是局限。
The word“handcraft”seems to be a little bit too extravagant in the context of the current era.It is no longer a mainstream production method,often implying multi-fold consumption of time and energy.Handcraft products are neither efficient nor convenient,and the outcome is often imperfect.In terms of commercial value,their cost performance is not good enough.The behavior of“handcraft”has no chance to race against the times,but can only stubbornly follow its own pace in a hurry or slow way.For handcrafters,“time”is limited.
这种劳作方式带来的成果是具有唯一性的。在时间的长轴上，作为物质的雕刻作品和手工雕刻的行为都在走向不断消减的方向，直至材料在消磨中化为乌有，直至作品腐朽回归自然，直至手工的力量被逐渐遗忘。
The result brought about by handcraft is unique.On the long axis of time,both the physical engraving works and the behavior of hand-engraving are moving towards the direction of constant attenuation,until that the materials disappear in the process of wearing,until that the works decay and return to the nature,and until that the power of handcraft is gradually forgotten.

时间的增长
Growth of Time
在李怡用双手进行创作的过程里，总会想起工业革命时期那些新艺术运动倡导者们的“理想”。“新技术”是顺应时代的产物，无论在何时，我们都注定要去适应一个更快速更进步的新世界。
In the process while Li Yi was creating with her hands,she always thought of the“ideals”of those advocates of Art Nouveau during the Industrial Revolution.“New technology”is a product that conforms to the times.No matter when,we are always destined to adapt to a faster and a more progressive new world.
借助日新月异的科技手段，早已使人们感知时间的比例尺发生改变。在单位时间内掌握更有效的工作方法，仿佛让我们拥有了扩展时间长度的能力，可以短时高效地制作出我们所需的一切，甚至是艺术作品。对于“新技术”来说，“时间”拥有无限可能。
With the help of ever-changing technological means,our scale of perception of time has drastically changed.The ability to master more effective working methods within unit time seems to give us the power to extend the length of time,so as to produce everything we need as fast as possible,even including art works.For the“new technology”,“time”has unlimited possibilities.
这便是时间长轴上的另一个方向：时间的无限增长。李怡借助3D扫描和全彩打印技术，着手将雕刻作品中的重要元素进行复制，那是被消减时间的重生。通过这种方式得以将具备唯一性的手工成果转化为无限数量的复刻品。
This is another direction on the axis of time:the unlimited growth of time.By using the 3D scanning and full-color printing technology,Li Yi attempts to replicate the important elements in the engraving works.This is the rebirth of the attenuated time.In this way,unique handcraft products are transformed into an unlimited number of replicas.
这些复刻品不再是简单复制与还原，它们甚为轻松的就可以改变形态、体量、获得更丰富的肌理和色彩，它们能够发展出全新的自我，是无限时间上跳跃的、具有创造性的节点。
These replicas are no longer simple reproductions and restorations.They can easily change their shapes,volumes,and obtain richer textures and colors.They can develop a new self,becoming leaping and creative nodes in infinite time.

成为样本
Becoming Samples
链接这两个方向的，是李怡以“我”为主体创作出的作品，它们用创作者最为熟悉的质朴手法记录下生命中真实存在的时间，雕刻一件作品需要累计5小时、10小时，更短或者更久。它们如实地将创作者生命中无形的短暂时刻记录下来，成为有形的“时刻样本”。这些作品是时间长轴上不动的中点，在永恒的消减和虚无的增长中，找到最为真实的平衡。
What link these two directions together are works created by Li Yi with her“ego”as the main body.These works record the real time in life with the simple method that is most familiar to the creator.It takes 5 hours,10 hours,or even a longer time to make an engraving work.They faithfully record the intangible short moments in the creator’s life and become tangible“samples of time”.These works are the immovable midpoints on the axis of time,which aim to find the most real balance in the eternal attenuation and growth of time.
